Am 15.April 1989, vor genau 31 Jahren, haben 96 Männer, Frauen und Kinder im Hillsborough Stadion in Sheffield beim FA Cup Halbfinale zwischen Liverpool FC und Nottingham Forest ihr Leben verloren.

Am heutigen Tag sind unsere Gedanken bei den 96 Menschen, die ein Fußballspiel sehen wollten und nie mehr nach Hause zurückkehrten. Auch wenn es durch die Coronakrise keine Gedenkveranstaltungen für die Opfer geben kann, so bitten wir euch heute, in Gedanken bei den Verstorbenen der Hillsborough-Katastrophe zu sein. Niemals darf es wieder zu so einer Tragödie kommen. Niemals werden wir die Namen der Verstorbenen vergessen. Ruhet in Frieden!
