Auch im dritten Spiel der Saison fährt Liverpool einen Sieg ein. Die drei Punkte gegen Brighton stellten allerdings eine weitaus grössere Herausforderung dar als zuvor angenommen.

Brighton allerdings gab auch nach einer 20-minütigen Druckphase der Reds nicht auf und suchte weiterhin nach dem Ausgleich. Kurz nach der Pause waren die Seagulls die deutlich bessere Mannschaft, Alisson Becker war immer wieder gefordert.

Am Ende reichte es für Liverpool trotz einer durchzogenen zweiten Hälfte zu einem knappen Sieg. Damit verbuchte das Team neun Punkte aus den drei Spielen und kann sich nun in Ruhe auf die Auswärtspartie gegen Leicester City vorbereiten.
